The Law of Attraction and Magick

Image
Lately I've been studying and thinking a lot about the law of attraction, and how it relates to magick. Maybe a better -more descriptive- word would be Worry.  Much of doing magick (such as prosperity) is a pretty big statement of I Am.  In this case, I've been pondering if I Am (lacking something) is really the way I want to present and broadcast to the universe. I've known there are things... bits and insights that are almost there for the grasping.... but I hadn't taken the time to truly sort and sift and organize my way through it all.  Until now. This morning after meditation I asked "how can I (inside my head) reconcile magick and the law of attraction?" Three cards presented themselves-- Temperance, 7 of Wands, and The Star.        Tarot Vintage Immediate first flashes of thought were 1) flow, gentleness 2) defensiveness 3) magick and wishes being supported. After delving deeper, here's where I arrived: Temperance:   Flow.  Gentleness.  Sun.  Light

Tea-Dyed Pages

Image
Finally  dyed more paper today.  Every time I need a sheet, I have to go swipe one from my Book of Shadows-- and it's getting harder and harder to find pages that aren't printed upon. So today was the day!  I used the same herbs that I used for my first batch of paper: Tea for Courage Sage for Wisdom Devil's Shoestring for Power Pecans for Prosperity Rosewater for Love. I put the cauldron on the fire to bubble,   and after a satisfactory bout with that, I took it off and poured it (herbs and all) over a hefty stack of paper... maybe 150 pages or so. I lifted up the stack at various points, to allow the liquid to seep into different pages of the stack.  After playing with it and letting it be in the tea (and herbs, still) for ten minutes or so I took it out and laid small stacks of it out to dry. When it wasn't sopping anymore, I hung it up on the clothesline in small stacks.... maybe 5-15 pages per stack.  Had I thought of it, I would have put the sheets through the

Well, we always do our best to fit it all in, don't we?                       Happy New Year, everyone.

Into the Woods

I've been running into the woods a lot, lately. Seems like every day, I'm finding myself with a rather intense need to lose myself in a forest.  And so.             Breathing.

Soft

It seems like I've been chasing autumn this year. So many things and people and moments rushing in between me, and It. Yesterday, I was taking a moment to look at this Gorgeous World through instagram, and saw someone had mentioned snow .  Snow!?!  What!?! Naturally, outside I went. An' there it was.     The soft.  The hush.  The Still. And then--           There are countless bits of Magick in this world, and I'm so, so grateful that I get to wander through and be enchanted by this one.

Dark Moon Water

Image
We live in a high-mountain desert clime. So maybe that contributes to my penchant? need? obsession?? for collecting as many bottles, jars, and jugs that I possibly can.  A Water-For-Every-Occasion! While we're thoroughly land-locked, we do, thankfully, have access to a variety of mountain rivers and lakes, freshwater springs, and plenty of gorgeous tumbling streams. And once in a while, it will actually rain during a needed moon phase, and I do my best to collect what I can. There are, of course, a thousand ways to cleanse things-- visualizing and blowing your own breath over something, using a Sparklifying potion on or over it... smudging... but sometimes it feels like a sort of baptism is the only thing that will do. So if there's rain or snow, I put out my favorite collecting bowl... and let the moon do Her magick.  ♥
